Itinerary

Day One:

Board a flight from Mumbai to Diu: Jet Airways (9W 3403) 1325 hours / 1435 hours where upon their arrival the car will pick them up and drive 100 kms - 1 & 1/2 hours drive towards Somnath (Prabhas Patan) it is one of India's twelve jyotirlingas. After attending the evening Aarti and Darshan they need to leave 10 kms - 15 mts drive towards Veraval a major fishing port along the coastline for an Overnight stay at Veraval.

Day Two:

Have darshan once again in Somnath and then proceed to Porbandar which is appro 135 kms - 2 hours drive. Enroute visit small temples and after sightseeing at Porbandar - O/n at Porbandar.

Day Three:

After sightseeing leave for (90 kms - 1 & 1/2 hours drive) Dwarka; sightseeing of Dwarka and stay Overnight at Dwarka.

Day Four:

After morning Darshan leave for Beyt Dwarka (50 kms - 1 hour drive). They need to hire a Small Boat to visit the temple at Beyt Dwarka. While returning towards Dwarka we will visit several Temples enroute. Overnight Stay at Dwarka.

Day Five:

After breakfast leave for Jamnagar (165 kms - 2 & 1/2 hours drive); visit temples, sightseeing of other places at Jamnagar and proceed in the evening towards Wankaner (135 kms - 2 hours drive) known for its heritage properties. O/n atWankaner.

Day Six:

After breakfast leave for Nakhtrana via Morbi & Bhuj (230 kms - 4 hours drive) and check in to your hotel. This is the closest town to the Flamingo City. Wild lifers, Geologists and Ornithologists from all over visit this place for research and fieldwork. Desert Safari, bird watching and handicrafts excursion trips in the Fulay Plains cost anything between Rs. 1200.00 - Rs. 1800.00 per trip. They need to pay this amount directly to the Safari Organizers. Rest of the time sightseeing in and around Moti Virani and Nakhtrana. O/n at Nakhtrana.

Day Seven:

After breakfast leave for the Fulay Plains and Kiro Dungar an extinct volcano in the Fulay plains. This place abounds in 65-million-year-old fossils of snails, conches and other marine organisms. It is really a birdwatcher's paradise. Overnights stay at Nakhtrana.

Day Eight:

After breakfast leave for Zainabad (360 kms – 6 hours drive) at a resort that captures a traditional eco-friendly rural ambience. After check in visit the Wild Ass Sanctuary - The Only surviving Wild Asiatic Asses. O/n at Zainabad.

Day Nine:

After an early breakfast you will be transferred to Modhera (55 kms - 1 hours drive), a site of great importance at one time. Today, Modhera is a virtually deserted hamlet. Far more off the beaten track and much less known than the Konark Sun Temple, Modhera retains a great deal its atmosphere and charm. Modhera is known for the 11th century Sun Temple. This temple is one of the finest Hindu temples in Gujarat and the Konark Sun Temple in Orissa is very similar. This similarity is that this temple was also designed in such a way so as to let the dawn sun shine on the image of Surya, at the time of equinoxes.

From here we will proceed to Patan (55 kms - 1 hours drive) a dusty, little visited town, but its narrow streets are lined by the elaborate, faded wooden houses and more than 100 Jain temples, which are worth exploring. The largest of the Jain temple is Panchasara Parasvanath. The major tourist attractions in Patan are Rani ki Vav, Sahastralinga Talav and Khan Sarovar. Rani ki Vav is an excellent example of subterranean architecture of Gujarat.

We would then leave (90 kms - 1 & 1/2 hours drive) towards Ambaji where the main attraction is the Ambe temple. Located on the Arasur hill, is the town of Ambaji, one of the most important Shaktipith of India and dedicated to the temple of the Mother Goddess, Amba. It is an important place of pilgrimage for Hindus from all over. The Goddess is said to be a manifestation of Shiva's consort, Parvati and represents the primordial female power. Koteshwar is eight kilometers from Ambaji and it is believed to be the source, or gomukh, of one of the present-day Saraswati rivers. Valmiki Ashram and Shakti Ashram are worth seeing here. After spending couple of hours we drive back to Ahmedabad late in the evening (180 kms - 3 hours drive). O.n at Ahmedabad.

Day Ten:

After breakfast leave for Lothal (120 kms - 2 hours drive. After spending couple of hours at the Indus Valley Civilization site of Lothal return to Ahmedabad for a half day sightseeing and stay overnight atAhmedabad.

Day Eleven:

After breakfast we leave for Gandhinagar (25 kms - 30 mts drive) enroute the Adalaj Step Wells. Here we will visit the Swaminarayan Temple (Akshardham Temple) (A minimum of 3 & 1/2 hours is needed to witness the temple along with the Sound and Dance Show organized at the Temple. Late noon return towards Ahmedabad Airport to board your connecting flight to Mumbai.
